Criminal justice graduate wins Sheriffs’ Association scholarship

OSWEGO - An annual scholarship sponsored by the New York State Sheriffs' Association was recently awarded to Corey Trask of Pennellville, Oswego County, a graduate of Cayuga Community College, Fulton Campus.

Trask achieved an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice in May, 2009, and earned the scholarship based on merit and community participation, noting active participation in the Criminal Justice Society.

He is currently a member of the Belgium-Cold Springs Fire Department and works as a security guard at Great Northern Mall.

Corey has enrolled in the CNY Police Academy for Phase 1 Training this fall.  He also has plans to continue his education, working toward a Bachelor’s Degree.
