Five charged with golf course vandalism

CORAM – Suffolk County Police arrested five people for damaging putting greens and fairways at  the Avalon Pines golf course in Coram.  Eight golf carts, driven on the greens and fairways, and then on local streets, also sustained substantial damage. 

The damage was discovered after police received calls from several people, about carts being recklessly driven on residential streets in Coram. 

Facing felony charges are Andrew Burgos, 18, Daniel Wottawa, 20 and Paul Johnston, 20, all of Coram.  Also charged are Kristopher Neithercut, 18 of Mastic Beach and Justin Vansicklen, 19, of Ridge.
