Federal money available for low-income housing

ALBANY – More than $48 million in federal low income housing tax credits and subsidies are available, statewide, to help construct or rehabilitate housing for working families, senior citizens and people with disabilities.  The money will be distributed throughout the state.

Gov. David Paterson, who announced the funding, says this could mean some 2,000 construction jobs

U.S. Senator Charles Schumer said “In these difficult economic times, it is critical that we provide safe and affordable housing for the most vulnerable”.
