Rochester officials advise not to risk late tax bill penalties

ROCHESTER – The 2009-2010 Rochester City property tax bills have been mailed to all property owners who do not have escrow arrangements with their mortgages.

Those who have not received their tax bills are urged to notify the city’s Tax Information Office at 585-428-6940 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays.

Property owners are responsible for paying their taxes on time, whether or not they have received their tax bill.

The first installment of the 1009-1020 city property tax bills must be paid by July 31 to avoid interest penalties. If the first installment has not been paid by that date, interest penalties will begin to accrue.
