United Cerebral Palsy of New York City announces grand reopening of Brooklyn tech centers

NEW YORK − United Cerebral Palsy of New York City Tuesday announced the grand reopening and dedication of the Brooklyn SHARE and TechWorks Resource Centers at the UCP/NYC Brooklyn Campus, 160 Lawrence Avenue on June 11 with a formal dedication at 11 a.m. and tours of both renovated centers from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

The resource centers offer hands-on assistive technology training, assessment and referrals and are open to the public, serving Brooklyn and Staten Island individuals with disabilities and their families and the professionals who work with them.

Since 1990, UCP/NYC has been designated the Regional TRAID Center (Technology Related Assistance for Individuals with Disabilities) for the city as part of a federally funded project administered by the New York State Commission on the Quality of Care and Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities.   The TechWorks Resource Center at 175 Lawrence Avenue serves children and adults, while SHARE (Samuel Hausman Activities, Resources and Education) is child and family-focused.
