Teen charged after fatal motor vehicle accident

BAINBRIDGE – A one car accident last Thursday morning claimed the life of a Norwich woman.  State Police at Sidney said shortly before 6 a.m., an accident occurred on State Route 206 in Bainbridge.           

The investigation revealed that Trebor Hoxie, of, Norwich, operated a 2001 Dodge Caravan with four other passengers, when he veered off the right side of the roadway, struck the guide rail, overturned several times, and came to rest in the roadway.  

Alcohol was a contributing factor to the cause of the accident, police said. The accident resulted in the death of one of his passengers, and serious physical injury and /or physical injury to the other three. Killed in the crash was Ashley Crisell, 18. No one was wearing a setbelt.

Hoxie was treated at Lourdes Hospital for minor abrasions and a complaint of pain. He was released from Lourdes Hospital to the custody of the New York State Police and was charged with one count of vehicular manslaughter second degree. He was arraigned and remanded to the Chenango County jail in lieu of $200,000 bail.
