Two Syracuse men indicted on major drug charges

SYRACUSE – A federal grand jury in Syracuse has returned an Indictment against two Syracuse men, Jody Edelman and Raymond Gonzalez, charging them with aiding and abetting each other in possessing with intent to distribute cocaine, heroin, and cocaine base (crack).

Edelman, 38, and Gonzalez, 40, both of 731 James Street, Syracuse, were charged in three separate counts with possessing with intent to distribute substantial quantities of cocaine powder, heroin and cocaine base (crack).  The drugs were discovered during an October 2, 2008 search at the Skyline Apartments on James Street in Syracuse.  Authorities estimate the street value of the drugs exceed $350,000.

If convicted, Edelman faces a mandatory term of life imprisonment.  If convicted, Gonzalez faces a mandatory minimum term of ten years and a maximum of life and a four million dollar fine.
