Jamestown man charged with breaking into residence

ELLINGTON – A Jamestown man has been charged by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office with first-degree burglary and other offenses.

William Michishima, 20, was also charged with criminal possession of stolen property, reckless endangerment in the second degree and endangering the welfare of a child.

It is alleged that he forced his way into a residence at 4151 Leach Hill Road in Ellington. The resident was able to get out of the house and call 911.  When deputies arrived, Michishima fled the rear of the building with a shotgun that he stole from inside.

He was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit.
