Juvenile counselor charged with sex abuse

NEW YORK - The Manhattan District Attorney’s office announced the arrest of a juvenile counselor for the New York City Department of Juvenile Justice for alleged sexual abuse of females in his custody while at Manhattan Family Court. 

Tony Simmons, 45, is charged with two counts of third degree rape and two counts of third degree criminal sexual act, all felonies, and four counts of second degree sexual abuse, a misdemeanor.  He could face up to four years in prison for each of the felony counts.

Simmons is being held in lieu of $250,000 bond or $100,000 cash bail.
