BRENTWOOD – The Suffolk County Police Department Homicide Squad is investigating the shooting death of an Islip Terrace woman.

Police were called to 1755 Stein Drive in Brentwood on Friday, October 10 at 10:45 p.m. after a 911 caller told police a woman had been shot.

When police arrived, they found Danielle Calbrese, 20, of 11 Karp Drive, Islip Terrace, had been shot in the face. She was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where she died a short time later.

Witnesses told police a group of friends was standing on the sidewalk when a number of shots came from a passing vehicle, which fled the scene.
