Child rapist sent to prison |

ALBANY - Geraldo Ragland, 19, of Albany, was sentenced to 11 years in prison and 15 years post release supervision. Between September 7, 2006 and March 31, 2007, Ragland engaged in several acts of sexual conduct, including anal intercourse, with a seven-year-old child. Ragland would bribe the child to perform these acts by offering rewards such as dolls and candy. He also threatened the child with harm if she told anyone. In August, Ragland pled guilty to one count of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the First Degree, a Class “B” Felony. “This defendant repeatedly engaged in unspeakable acts with a child through the use of bribery and threats. He is a clear and present danger to our community and I am very pleased that he will spend the next decade in prison where he will be unable to harm another child,” said District Attorney P. David Soares. |
