On 10/8/08 at 5:16 p.m., Heidi J. Corsette, 18, of 1906 Co. Rt. 37, West Monroe, NY was operating a 1998 GMC at the intersection of CR 9 and CR 6 in the Town of Volney when the vehicle reportedly entered the intersection and collided with a 2007 Saturn operated by Jodie E. Posillipo, 35, of 252 Co. Rt. 45, Hastings, NY spinning the Saturn before it came to rest at the north west corner of the intersection and causing Ms. Posillipo’s vehicle to bounce off a 1995 Nissan operated by C.M. Creighton, 56, of 16 Grange St., Pennellville, NY of which was stopped at the intersection of Gilbert Mills Rd. and CR 6.  Ms. Posillipo was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.  Failure to yield the right of way and disregard of traffic control seem to have been contributing factors.
