Three men arrested for robbery, weapon possession

BAY SHORE – Suffolk County Police have arrested three men for allegedly robbing a woman of her purse at gunpoint in Bay Shore.

A 42-year-old Bay Shore woman was walking on Garfield Street in Bay Shore at about 9:20 p.m. on October 8 when two men armed with handguns approached her and demanded her purse.

The men grabbed it and ran to a waiting vehicle that took off on Third Avenue.

A short time later, police stopped the vehicle and the three occupants fled on foot. The three were taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit. The handguns and robbery proceeds were recovered.

Arrested and charged with robbery in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree were Romel Lorenzo, 20, of Central Islip, Eduardo Sosa, 19, of Brentwood, and Yojancel Vizcaino, 17, also of Brentwood.
