Long Island bank robbed |

SAYVILLE – Suffolk County Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Wednesday at the Island Federal Credit Union branch in Sayville. A man entered the bank on Sunrise Highway at 8:45 a.m., approached a teller with a note demanding money and threatened to shoot and kill the teller if she did not comply. The teller gave him money and he fled the bank. The robber is described as a white male, about 23 years old, five feet, eight inches tall to five feet, nine inches tall, thin build, with a dark colored chin-strap type beard. He was wearing a baseball cap, black jacket with a white t-shirt underneath, and white shorts with a red stripe on the side. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential. |
