Truck driver now charged with making up robbery story   (Update)

BAYBLON – Suffolk County Police Tuesday arrested a truck driver, who earlier in the day claimed he was robbed and locked inside his truck.

Cesar Ramirez, 35, of Copiague, a truck driver who made up a story about being robbed at gunpoint, admitted to detectives that he made up the story to pay his mortgage.

Cash from the robbery was found in his home, police said.

Detectives charged him with grand larceny in the third degree and falsifying an incident in the third degree.
