Oswego County Sheriff’s Office daily report

On 7/25/08, Brian M. Sandler, 34, of 284 Durbin Rd., Hannibal, NY, was arrested for felony Driving While Intoxicated; felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, First Degree; Failure to Keep Right; and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test, stemming from an investigation into a motor vehicle accident.  Reportedly, Mr. Sandler was operating a 1997 Volkswagen southbound on Sixty Six Road in the Town of Hannibal at 11:36 p.m. when he lost control of the car ¼ of a mile north of Dunham Road.  The vehicle spun out, struck a tree, then tipped onto its side before coming to rest on its wheels, damaging the windshield.  Mr. Sandler and his passenger, Tara Gardener, age unknown, were both transported by ambulance to University Hospital in Syracuse.  Alcohol and animal’s action appear to have been contributing factors as Mr. Sandler reportedly swerved to avoid hitting two deer that were in the roadway.  Mr. Sandler was issued tickets returnable to Town of Hannibal Court on 8/05/08.

On 7/31/08, Desiree M. Trude, 23, of 58 Chase Road, Fulton, NY, was operating a 2000 Ford southbound on Chase Road in the Town of Granby at 6:33 p.m. when she reportedly failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with a westbound 2007 Ford driven by Judy L. Lamb, 52, of 1076 CR 8, Fulton, NY.  Emily L. Lamb, a passenger in the Lamb vehicle was transported by ambulance to A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital in Fulton.  Ms. Trude was ticketed for Failure to Yield Right of Way at a Stop Sign Intersection.

On 8/01/08 at 12:29 a.m., Darrell F. O’Shea, 53, of 75 Whittemore Rd., Oswego, NY, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Failed to Keep Right following an investigation into a motor vehicle accident that occurred in the Town of Volney.  Mr. O’Shea was arraigned before the Hon. Patricia Kerfien, Town of Volney Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bail bond.  He is scheduled to return to court on 8/04/08.  Mr. O’Shea was reportedly driving a pickup truck northbound on CR 176 when he lost control approximately 500 yards from CR 45 causing the vehicle to leave the west side of the roadway causing damage to the grass on the shoulder of the road.  Continuing northbound on 176 the vehicle was driven on its front driver’s side rim for about two to three miles.  Marks in the roadway from the rim of the truck led the officer to Mr. O’Shea’s driveway where the vehicle was located in the garage.

On 8/01/08 at 4:10 p.m., Lindsey M. Forcione, 19, of 76 Ouderkirk Road, Pulaski, NY, was operating a 2003 Chevrolet northbound on CR 62 in the Town of Sandy Creek when she rear-ended a northbound 2008 Chevrolet driven by Ashley C. Bough, 20, of PO Box 506, Sandy Creek, NY.  The incident reportedly occurred when an uninvolved vehicle traveling in front of them made a right turn into a driveway.  Sherry A. Bough, 47, a passenger in the Bough vehicle, was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.  Following too closely, unsafe speed, and Reaction to other uninvolved vehicle appear to have been contributing factors in the incident. 

On 8/01/08 at 11:41 a.m., Stephen G. Webster, 41, of 7 Birch Lane, Oswego, NY, was arrested based on a warrant held by the Vestal Police Department charging him with Grand Larceny, Third Degree, a class D felony.  Mr. Webster was arrested at his residence without incident and turned over to a member of the Vestal Police Department for further processing.

On 8/01/08 at 3:35 p.m., a 17 year old male residing in the Town of Scriba was arrested for Criminal Mischief, Fourth Degree, a class A misdemeanor, following a domestic incident that occurred in the Town of Oswego during which he allegedly caused damage to the dashboard of a vehicle by punching it.  The youth was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge before Town of Oswego Court on 8/11/08.

On 8/02/08 at 8:30 a.m., Jessica L. Allen, 20, of 1020 CR 25, Oswego, NY, was arrested for Assault, Third Degree, a class A misdemeanor, stemming from an incident that occurred in May in a Town of Oswego residence during which she was accused of causing physical injury to a female victim by pulling the victim’s hair and punching her in the face.  Ms. Allen was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge before Town of Oswego Court on 8/18/08. 

On 8/02/08 at 1:51 p.m., Ann L. Smahol, 58, of 83 Coronado Drive, Rochester, NY, Mark E. King, 51, of 3000 Straul Boulevard, Rochester, NY, and Amanda L. Santana, 23, of 231 Duer St., Oswego, NY, were all involved in a motor vehicle accident that occurred at SR 3 and CR 45 in the Town of Palermo.  Reportedly, Ms. Smahol was driving northbound on SR 3, Mr. King southeast on SR 3 making a left turn into the Sunoco Gas Station, and Ms. Santana facing west starting from a parking position in the gas station.  Mr. King reportedly failed to yield the right of way to Ms. Smahol, making a left hand turn in front of her, causing Ms. Smahol’s vehicle to strike the right side of Mr. King’s car.  That impact caused the left side of Mr. King’s vehicle to collide with the right side of Ms. Santana’s vehicle.  Ms. Santana and her passenger, Alexander Santana, 26, were both transported by ambulance to the Oswego Hospital.  Failure to yield the right of way and improper turning appear to have been contributing factors in the incident.  Mr. King was ticketed for Failed to Yield Right of Way Left Turn.

On 8/02/08 at 6:20 p.m., Joel A. Quirello, 20, of 177 Guernsey Rd., Hannibal, NY, was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Third Degree, and Speed in Zone, following a traffic stop in the Town of New Haven.  Mr. Quirello was arraigned before Town of Mexico Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bail bond.  He is scheduled to answer the charges before Town of New Haven Court on 8/07/08.

On8/02/08 at 8:08 p.m., Daniel R. Schneider, 35, of 252 George Rd., Mexico, NY, was arrested based on an Oswego County Family Court warrant charging him with violating Article IV of the Family Court Act (failure to pay support).  Mr. Schneider was arraigned before the Hon. James Ridgeway, Town of Richland Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bail bond.  He is scheduled to appear before Oswego County Family Court on 8/04/08 to answer the charge.

On 8/03/08 at 12:17 a.m., Richard A. Plantz, 42, of 7858 Adams Rd., Krikville, NY, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Driving With .08 of One Percent or More of Alcohol, and Failed to Keep Right, following a traffic stop in the Town of Scriba after he was reportedly observed driving westbound and crossing several times into the eastbound lane.  Mr. Plantz was issued tickets returnable to Town of Scriba Court on 8/14/08 and released to a third party.

On 8/03/08, Jenny Holmann, 36, of 10 4E Avenue, Melaheville, Quebec, Ca., was operating a 2000 Honda motorcycle southbound on SR 3 in the Town of Richland at 10:38 a.m. when she reportedly collided with the rear end of a southbound 2002 Mercury driven by John C. Gage, 67, of 10125 River Road, Camden, NY.  Reportedly, Mr. Gage was facing south on SR 3 attempting to make a left hand turn onto Clark Road waiting for northbound traffic to clear at the time of the occurrence.  Ms. Holmann was transported by ambulance to University Hospital in Syracuse.  Driver inattention appears to have been a contributing  factor.

On 8/03/08 at 2:10p.m., Nichole M. Williams, 39, of 23 Towsley Road, Pulaski, NY, was observed crossing the yellow solid line three times while driving eastbound on SR 13 in the Town of Richland.  Following a traffic stop Ms. Williams was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Third Degree (license suspended on 9/28/07 for failing to pay a fine in the Town of Sodus), and Failed to Keep Right.  She is scheduled to answer the charges before the Hon. Amy Pastuf, Town of Richland Court, on 8/18/08.

On 8/03/08, Michael L. Enos, 25, of 1295 CR 1, Oswego, NY, was operating a 2008 Polaris ATV four-wheeler northbound in a gravel bed off CR 29 in the Town of Scriba at 5:08 p.m. when he reportedly struck a small ditch causing him to lost control of the machine, resulting in it overturning and flipping end over end.  Mr. Enos was transported by ambulance to the Oswego Hospital.  Unsafe speed appears to have been a contributing factor in the incident.

On 8/03/08 at 8:59 p.m., Seth A. Sammet, 27, of 1011 CR 37, Central Square, NY, was arrested based on an Onondaga County Family Court warrant and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation, after he was found to have marijuana buds and a glass bowl containing marijuana residue on his person during the arrest.  Mr. Sammet was issued an appearance ticket to answer the drug charge before Town of Hastings Court on 8/20/08 and subsequently turned over to a member of the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office for further processing on the warrant.

On 8/03/08 at 11:30 p.m., a 15 year old female residing in the Town of Scriba was taken into custody based on a warrant issued by Oswego County Family Court.  The girl was released to a non-secure detention home per the warrant.  She is scheduled to appear before Oswego County Family Court on 8/04/08.
