Schenectady cocaine dealer gets long prison term |

ALBANY - Melvin Miller, 48, of Schenectady, was sentenced in U.S. District Court, Albany, to more than 20 years in prison,, to be followed by an eight year term of supervised release, upon his plea of guilty to possession with intent to distribute cocaine. On May 16, 2007, a search warrant was executed at Miller's residence at 1336 Waverly Place, Schenectady. Two bags containing approximately 1,798 grams of cocaine were recovered from his bedroom closet. Other drug paraphernalia was also recovered from the same closet, including two digital scales. Subsequently, Miller was arrested during a traffic stop near his residence. A search of another location in Schenectady used by Miller resulted in the additional seizure of approximately $50,000 and three pounds of marijuana. |
