Woman pleads guilty to prostitution conspiracy and money laundering

NEW YORK – A woman who booked clients for the international prostitution and money-laundering ring emperors Club VIP, Wednesday pled guilty in federal court to conspiracy charges.

According to her plea and documents in the case, Temeka Rachelle Lewis, 32, of Brooklyn, participated in a conspiracy to promote, manage and carry on an illegal prostitution business, to transport women, and to induce women to travel to engage in prostitution.

She is said to have arranged for men to meet women and in one case arranged for a prostitute to travel from New York to Washington, DC to meet a man in his hotel room.

Former Governor Eliot Spitzer was purposed to be a client of the Emperors Club and met with a prostitute in a Washington hotel room.

When sentenced in August, Lewis faces up to 25 years in state prison.
