Oswego man charged with manslaughter

OSWEGO - The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office Monday charged Frank Ward, 45, of 171 Chapel Road, Oswego, with manslaughter in the first degree, a felony, following an investigation into the death of Irene Doviak of the Town of Oswego.

The arrest is the result of an investigation that began after Doviak was found dead in her home in November 2007.

An initial investigation led to Ward being charged with assault in the first degree, but further investigation and information revealed Doviak died as the result of the injuries allegedly inflicted upon her by Ward.

Ward was arraigned on the manslaughter charge in Oswego Town Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility without bail.

Ward has been incarcerated since his arrest in November 2007.
