File may take time to start streaming on slower Internet connections

HAUPPAUGE - A Suffolk County jury Tuesday convicted a Bellport man of second degree murder in the 2001 shooting death of a gas station attendant.

After a 10 day trial and two hours of deliberations, 36-year-old Tracy Crews of 652 Doane Avenue was convicted of second degree murder.

On January 26, 2001 at approximately 4 a.m., 48-year old Ahmet Barin was found shot to death at the Coastal Gas Station on Route 25 in Coram. Police said Barin had been shot in the chest and robbed.

Crews faces a prison term of 25 years to life when he is sentenced next month.
