Broome County to monitor new lighting efficiencies in county office building

File may take time to start streaming on slower Internet connections

BINGHAMTON – Eastern Energy Solutions has installed a series of SofTrace lighting in the Broome County Department of Public Works Office for a pilot project to test the efficiency of the new lighting in the Broome County Office Building.

The pilot program stemmed from discussions about the cost of interior lighting in county buildings and overall energy rate increases.

The pilot project will determine whether the lighting will function and perform better than the current lighting and the estimated 57 percent reduction of savings of kWh consumption. The current installed lighting in the county building has an output of 72 watts per fixture. The new lighting fixtures will give out 31 watts per fixture.
