ALBANY – Senator Darrel Aubertine (D – Cape Vincent) was sworn in Monday as the newest member of the state Senate Monday.

Aubertine, 54, says his concerns today are the same issues he focused on during his five years in the Assembly, which includes agriculture, tourism, economic development, veteran affairs and higher education.

As he did in the Assembly, Senator Aubertine will help ensure the North Country has a voice at the table.

“Darrel is a great addition to the Democratic Conference,” said Senator David Valesky (D – Oneida).  “I am looking forward to working with him on issues important to upstate New Yorkers including reducing the property tax burden, strengthening the economy, and ensuring a quality education for all.”
