Former NYPD officer pleads guilty to participating in cocaine ring

File may take time to start streaming on slower Internet connections

Federal authorities Wednesday announced that a former New York City cop pled guilty to participating in a conspiracy to steal cocaine from drug stash houses in Manhattan, and keeping a share of the proceeds.

Kirsix De La Cruz was an active NYPD officer at the time of the crimes in July 2005 and had registered to take the NYPD’s sergeant’s exam.

In July 2005, De La Cruz introduced a co-conspirator not named in the Indictment one of his co-defendants, Luis German. German knew the locations of drug stash houses around Manhattan and was willing to share that information with De La Cruz and the other person.
