The Monroe County/City of Rochester 911 Center is the recipient of the 2007 Outstanding 911 Center Award from the E911 Institute in Washington, DC.

The award singles out the local center as a leader in technology implementation and a national model for inter-governmental operations and cooperation.

Under the joint county, city program, the 911 center provides dispatching services for 16 police departments, 45 fire departments and 32 emergency medical services agencies throughout Monroe County.

In 2006, the 911 center received 1.1 million calls and processed 1.2 million CAD events for the agencies it serves.
