Police said that shortly after 11 a.m., a man entered the North Fork Bank at 290 Main Street in Islip, vaulted over a teller counter and announced a robbery. He ordered the employees and customers to get on the floor, then opened the tellers’ drawers and removed cash. The man fled through the front door and got into the back seat of a waiting late model black Acura MDX with tinted windows. The suspect is described as being about six-feet, three inches tall, wit a muscular build. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, a black mast, a Yankee baseball cap, a black t-shirt, grey Rocawear jeans with red stitching, white gloves and sneakers.
