On Monday, at 11am, New York’s Republican District 18 congressional candidate will be at Poughkeepsie’s U.S. Post Office, but this won’t be a Halloween Trick or Treat event. Phil Oliva, who is in a heated contest with Democrat Sean Maloney, will be there for very serious business.
A release issued by Oliva’s campaign states:
“Oliva will outline key questions and concerns with the recent surprise report that a Syrian refugee resettlement office will soon be opening up in the City of Poughkeepsie. Church World Service, a humanitarian organization and a federal partner in refugee resettlements are opening up the office.”
