NYSEG AND RG&E CONDUCTING AERIAL INSPECTIONS

By STANLEY JORDAN

NYSEG and RG&E, subsidiaries of AVANGRID (NYSEG: AGR), have begun the companies’ annual vegetation inspections of transmission lines by helicopter. The flights are an important part of a comprehensive program to ensure safe, reliable delivery of energy to homes and businesses in the NYSEG and RG&E service areas.

“We are conducting routine inspections of our transmission facilities to help ensure safe, reliable delivery of electricity to our customers,” said Mark S. Lynch, president and CEO of NYSEG and RG&E. “These high-voltage power lines are the backbone of our electricity delivery system. Our goal is to spot potential problems and correct them before they inconvenience our customers.”

Lynch said helicopters provide an excellent vantage point for quick and efficient inspection of transmission lines.

NYSEG and RG&E own nearly 5,600 miles of transmission lines across Upstate New York and in Western Pennsylvania.
