CUOMO URGES PEOPLE TO VISIT PARKS DURING HOLIDAY SEASON

By TEMPLE LI

This holiday season Governor Andrew Cuomo has invited New Yorkers statewide to celebrate the holidays in a different way; by visiting a state park or historic site. Over 40 New York state parks and historic sites will be hosting fun-filled events from light shows to holiday markets, arts and crafts, and historic tours this December and January.

“I urge New Yorkers and visitors alike to see for themselves all that our parks have to offer this holiday season.” said Cuomo, according to a recent press release. “New York’s parks and historic sites offer unparalleled natural beauty, countless opportunities for outdoor recreation, and family-friendly fun no matter what time of year it is.”

Per the press release:

“Holiday celebrations at New York State parks will range from tours of the lavishly decorated Staatsburgh Mansion in the Hudson Valley, to candlelight tours of Old Fort Niagara overlooking Lake Ontario.” For those in southern New York, Jones Beach State Park in Long Island is hosting the Holiday Light Spectacular now until January 4. In New York City, Clay Pit Ponds State Park will hold a wreath making workshop on December 19th.
